4.0 Consumer Application Concept: Developer
Introduction
Consumer Applications are applications that use CMS content.
Consumer Application overview
A Consumer Application is an application that consumes Forrit One content using the SDK.
When a content editor publishes a new Release to a specific Consumer Application it becomes available as content that can be retrieved using the SDK.
Consumer Applications consume Release content
The following diagram shows how:
Consumer Applications consume content from Releases.
Consumer Applications use the SDK to pull down content.
That content is then often displayed to end users across multiple devices.
Notes
There is often a ‘staging’ and a ‘production’ Consumer Application, for example.
