Purpose	This page describes the concept of a Consumer App in the Forrit CMS

Overview

A Consumer App is the application which runs the website on staging and production servers.

There are two types of Consumer App in Forrit:

A non-Production app is any website that isn't public-facing. This could be known as Staging, Dev or Test.
A Production app is any website that is public-facing, also known as Live.

Usually there will be one Staging Consumer App and one Production Consumer App, although each project may be configured differently.

Consumer Apps can not be configured from within the Forrit CMS. The CMS can send releases to a Consumer App.
