Forrit One CMS Quick Tour
Purpose | This is a quick tutorial designed to demonstrate the common features of Forrit One CMS. To do this we will build a simple page. This Quick Tour provides a set of instructions that are designed to provide a flow of ‘happy-path’ steps to creating and publishing a page to your website. Prerequisites | A user exists with permission to manage tasks, pages, components, edit content and create/publish releases. |
Tutorial Outcome
At the completion of this tutorial, you will know how to build a page, and be ready to build your own content.
To build a website you will:
Create a task
Build all required components
Create folders & pages
Assign components to that page
Assign a variant
Edit page content
Release your changes to a Staging website
Before you Start
Before you start this tutorial, it is highly recommended that you familiarise yourself with the Forrit One CMS Concepts v3.2 .
It is important to understand concepts such as a Consumer App, Tasks, and Variants.
Create a New Task
Follow the instructions here to create a task.
Build Components
If you do not have any components built in your CMS, you will need to do this first. If components exist already you may go to the next section titled Create a Variant.
Create a variant
A variant is required to edit content on a page. If a variant has been created this step can be skipped.
Add a Page
Create a folder and pages using the Page Tree.
Then build the page by adding components:

Finally, set the content in the components from the Page Editor:
View Your Page
You can also view your page from the Page Editor.
Publishing Content
Then publish the task to a Staging website:
